Allah

THE SELF-SUFFICIENT

Do you feel the void, a deep, settled emptiness that’s left you unhinged and reaching for ephemeral solutions? Within most lurks this disquietude or gaping chasm, and most turn to consumption, often excessively, to fill the vacuum.

The truth is, no one, regardless of circumstance, is sufficient within themselves. The title of Self-Sufficient rests with Allah alone. Allah is the Al-Ghaniyy—Self-Sufficient.

To fill the void, we must turn our will and lives over to the care of Allah. All other roads are deficient and lead to vacuous experiences filled with facsimiles of what our spirits desperately seek: communion with the Divine.

“Truly it is in the remembrance of God that hearts find peace.” [13:28]

The Prophet

A BOOK IN MOTION

To be a Muslim is both an identity and a state (submission to Allah’s Will). Which of the two do you occupy the most?

For Muslims, the Prophet Muhammad (s) is the exemplar and the perfect embodiment of God’s Will on earth. His laqab—moniker was The Living, Breathing Book of God. His life was God’s words in motion.

Muhammad’s life proves that the manifestation of Divine Will through humans is possible in varying degrees. We, too, can become vessels through which our lives project the Divine Will. Those intending to embark on this journey require a map, and to gain it, we must turn to Allah’s Book and His final Prophet (s).

Self-Reconstruction

We can begin the art of self-reconstruction by asking the following question:

What am I neglecting that I must cultivate, and what am I cultivating that I must neglect?

Until next week, InshaAllah
